Rock Royalty Dorothy Visits Tombstone Town with Slash and, Announces “The Way”

Black Sheep Gang, rejoice! Rock & Roll Queen Dorothy has announced her fourth album, The Way, via Roc Nation, set to release on March 14th.

“This album is a love letter to the fans,” Dorothy explains. “I’m letting them know everything is going to be okay, and we’ll help each other find the way—even if we get lost at times.”

Accompanying the announcement was a brand-new single and music video, Tombstone Town, featuring the legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Slash. This track is best described as a fast-paced, gritty rock & roll marriage to a rootin’ tootin’ spaghetti western showdown.

Slash shares his thoughts: “‘Tombstone Town’ is a sexy rock n’ roll grind, featuring Dorothy’s inimitable swagger and a great guitar hook.”

Here at Evaporated Magazine, we’re no strangers to Dorothy. Whether it’s through her single releases like MUD or her performance alongside Everyone’s favorite frontman Scott Stapp, during his Grand Ole Opry debut, Dorothy continues to captivate us. And now, we’re ready to come alive on March 14th for her new album, The Way!

As always for those unfamiliar with the hurricane-force known as Dorothy, here’s a quick recap,

Originally  from Hungary, Dorothy Martin formed the band DOROTHY in 2014 in Los Angeles. The band quickly gained attention with their debut single, After Midnight, featured on their self-titled EP released the same year. Two additional singles, Wild Fire and Wicked Ones, also garnered attention with Wicked Ones becoming the number one trending song for Indie Rock on SoundCloud. Dorothy was also included in Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Artists of 2014, ranking at number 14.

Roc Nation recognized Dorothy’s talent and signed her in 2015. The momentum kept going and led to their full-length debut album, ROCKISDEAD in 2016 leading to subsequent releases: 28 Days in the Valley (2018) and Gifts from the Holy Ghost (2022).

Fans of bands like Shinedown, Dirty Honey, Lilith Czar, Eva Under Fire, Seether, Des Rocs, Diamante, and Halestorm will love diving into Dorothy’s discography, especially her early releases from ROCKISDEAD, which deliver a nostalgic, old-school rock & roll vibe.

For those who admire classic rock female icons like Joan Jett, Heart, Janis Joplin, and Stevie Nicks, Dorothy’s sophomore release, 28 Days in the Valley (2018), will surely resonate.
