AVOID Kicks Off The New Year With New Single “If It Hurts”
AVOID has kicked off the new year with their new single “If It Hurts”. The thunderous riffs and heart-pounding rhythm will make for an intense live performance that will have fans begging for more. It’s gritty and real, and offers a sing-along chorus that you won’t be able to get out of your head.
The song features blips of techno distortion to enhance the heavy-hitting riffs. There is a beautiful balance of intense and vulnerable vocals that highlight the range of emotions that our past inflicts. The lyrics “I don’t care if it hurts, you kept on making it worse,” reign true to the hold a toxic person, or a toxic past, can have on us.
The band’s singer, Benny Scholl, explained the song's intent and story as a reflection of trying to heal from their past. “Honestly, I think the song was really healing for all of us. It's about accepting the past, whether it be good or bad, and moving forward, and we couldn't be more stoked with how it turned out.”
