Gore. Released their highly anticipated single “Angels Like You” on September 26, 2024, off their forthcoming EP "A Bud That Never Blooms", which will drop on October 24, 2024, via Spinefarm Records.
This 3-minute and 25-second track leads listeners through whimsical synths and the beautifully haunting vocals of lead singer Haley Roughton before descending into a breakdown of crushing riffs and a chilling, guttural scream at the 2:51 to surely send shivers down your spine.
“‘Angels Like You’ is one of two songs on the EP written about a particular individual, as opposed to a relational dynamic,” Roughton explains. “The song is about someone who appeared righteous and just but ended up being quite cruel. On a bigger scope, the song depicts those who self-aggrandize and signal their virtue. These people profess their greatness to others as a mask, so that we do not see how much they truly loathe themselves. Recording this song was a cathartic process and helped me let go of that person, and the hurt they left behind

If you’re asking yourself, Who is Gore.? or What is Gore.? let’s get you caught up. Gore. Is a Texas-based trio fronted by Haley Roughton, with Alex Reyes on guitar and Devin Birchfield on bass. Formed in 2023, their unique blend of genres is reminiscent of bands like Deftones and Sleep Token, but with a feminine twist. Roughton got her start with symphonic metal but, You may already be familiar with Roughton from her viral TikTok covers of songs like “Limits” by Bad Omens and “Without Me” by Dayseeker. Not only is Roughton the frontwoman of one of the hottest bands you'll hear this year, but she’s also a NASA engineer. (How badass is that?)
With a recent signing to Spinefarm Records, it’s safe to say Gore. Is here to stay. My prediction? This trio will be opening for heavy hitters within the next 12 months.

A Bud That Never Blooms will be out on October 24, 2024, via Spinefarm Records. The EP features already-released singles “Pray,” “Doomsday,” “Babylon,” and currently unreleased “Heaven Is Above Me.” The EP was produced by Miserable Productions.
