Breaking Benjamin Stops Fans In Their Tracks WITH A New Single Titled “Awaken“
Breaking Benjamin is currently on a US co-headlining tour with Staind, and supporting acts of Daughtry and Lakeview. During the past few shows, Breaking Benjamin has been displaying a date on their screen throughout the shows that says "10:16." Fans speculated during the shows it was either a new album, a new song, or even another tour announcement on October 16th!
During interviews with them over the last year or so, the band stated they have been in the studio and are planning on releasing new music. Fans are extremely excited about this because their last studio album was in 2018. They released an album called "Ember", with 12 tracks. Ember has hit #3 on Billboard Top 200, which makes this their fourth Top 5 Debut! They also released an album during the beginning of 2020 called "Aurora" but it was songs redone with the "Aurora version." Both albums have reached the Top 10 in many countries, with #1 on many charts such as Top Digital Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and many more.
It has been a very long wait for Breaking Benjamin to release a new song. Many people were counting down the days, and the band even out a countdown on their story so that you could track exactly how long until the announcement. On October 15th, they posted a snippet of the song on their official Instagram with the caption, "AWAKEN - TONIGHT."
With such anticipation, on October 16, 2024, they released their song, "Awaken." It has been less than 24 hours since it was released, and already has much traction, as we expected! Already on YouTube, it is #12 trending with 229K views.
In a recent interview about "Awaken", Jasen Rauch, Breaking Benjamins guitarist stated: "Working on this song has been something new and exciting for all of us, I believe. We've been able to explore more of who we are traditionally while at the same time push boundaries and try things we haven't done in the past. Musically we've tried hard to stay true to what Breaking Benjamin is, but offer a new take as well." As it has been 5 years since releasing music for the band, they decided to stick to their old roots, and add a little more new creativity into creating the song "Awaken."
In the near future, Breaking Benjamin has hinted towards releasing a new studio album! Band members such as Keith Wallen & Benjamin Burnley confirmed in interviews that they are currently working on an album release, with "extensive touring" as new music hits us. They expressed their creative motive to drop this album upon us. It has been an extremely long wait, but they are brewing something really radical for the fans! It most definitely will be worth the wait.
The song itself is definitely Breaking Benjamin as a whole. Benjamin's vocals are absolutely phenomenal, and Awaken really sets the stone for their older music, with a mix of new-age rock into it.
