Charlotte Sands covered AFI’s 2006 emo hit “Miss Murder” for Sumerian Comics American Psycho comic book series soundtrack
The 5-part comic book series “American Psycho” takes a twist on Patrick Bateman’s infamous story of greed, jealousy, and murder. The comic features Michael Calero’s modern interpretation in combination with vibrant illustrations from Piotr Kowalski and Brad Simpson.
Charlotte spoke on the project saying, “I am so grateful to get to be a part of such an incredible project alongside so many artists I love and so many songs that have been such an enormous part of my life. I grew up listening to Miss Murder and I’m so humbled to have gotten to create my version of it and imagine an entirely new world for it to exist in. I enjoyed every single moment of this process and couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to help me bring it all to life.”
Other tracks for this project included “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” by Leadbelly covered by Royal & The Serpent, “Walking on Sunshine” by The Waves covered by Ice Nine Kills featuring Reel Big Fish, and “Dangerous” by Depeche Mode covered by Perturbator.
