Andy Frasco & The U.N. Rock The Roxian
Andy Frasco brought the Try Not To Die Tour to Pittsburgh on March 7. From crowd surfing for a shot of Jameson to getting hundreds of people to do the horah, this set was pure energy from start to finish. But we can’t talk about Andy Frasco & The U.N. without first talking about Melt.
Melt is a female fronted band from New York City. Formed in 2017, the band is made up of vocalist Veronica Stewart-Frommer, guitarist Marlo Shankweller, bassist Lucas Saur, and keyboardist Eric Gabriel. The band is known for their soulful, indie pop sound.
Melt had no issue bringing the energy to the Roxian Theater. The room was flooded with good vibes the moment they hit the stage. Frommer’s contagious, energetic personality had the crowd jumping and dancing with every song. With songs like Sour Candy and Heaven, the band had no issue getting the crowd ready for Andy Frasco & The UN.
Andy Frasco & The U.N. is made up of five crazy dudes. Upon first look, you can tell that each member has their own unique personalities. Each one is bringing something truly amazing to the band.
The band consists of Andy Frasco (vocals/piano), Sam Kelly (saxophone), Shawn Eckles (guitar/vocals), Andre “Beats” Avila (drums/vocals), and Floyd Kellogg (bass guitar).
Andy Frasco & The U.N. put on a truly unforgettable show. This is one band you don’t want to miss. Their set consisted of twenty-one (21) songs. With a nice blend of fan favorites and new music, there was a little something for everyone. They even brought Melt out once more for their rendition of The Best by Tina Turner.
It’s not fair to say any one person stole the show. Because, like I said, each one of these guys plays their own part. You got the main man, Frasco, banging on his piano keys; meanwhile, Kelly is tearing it up on the saxophone. And we can’t forget about Eckles. I’m convinced this guy was pulled straight out of the ‘80s. He is truly something else and rocks the stage like no other.
We can’t forget Frasco jumping into the crowd and getting hundreds of people to do the horah. I’ve seen countless videos, but seeing it in person was truly something else. The energy of an Andy Frasco & The U.N. show is truly unbelievable. It’s something everyone should experience once. Even if you think you won’t like the music, just go anyway! You might leave the show liking what you heard.
The Try Not To Die tour will continue through June 14. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, go grab them now! Where else are you going to catch a saxophone/guitar riff off? Probably nowhere! So check out the dates below and make sure you secure tickets!
